Regional benchmarks your board can read in twenty minutes
Poplar Way Analytics prepares franchise performance comparisons—unit labour, food cost bands, same-store sales drift—against verified peers in your province and category. No generic industry averages. Each report names the cohort, the period, and the margin of error.

Method
How a benchmark cohort is assembled
We do not scrape public filings or reuse purchased datasets. Each cohort is built from operator-supplied unit P&L summaries, anonymised at submission, and matched on category, store format, and trade area density.
Intake & scope
You define regions, store count, and the KPIs your leadership team already tracks. We confirm minimum cohort size before work begins.
Peer matching
Units are grouped by NAICS-equivalent category codes used in Korea, adjusted for mall vs street-front format and weekday traffic patterns.
Visual report
Charts show your network against quartile bands—not a single "industry average." Annotations explain outliers and seasonal shifts.
Review session
A ninety-minute walkthrough with your ops lead. We leave written notes on which variances warrant field visits versus accounting review.
Evidence
What operators said after the review session
Our Gyeonggi bakery chain finally saw where labour hours diverged from peers in similar foot-traffic zones. The report did not pretend our seaside Busan units should match Seoul mall locations—and that honesty saved us a misguided staffing cut.Han Min-jungOperations Director, 22-unit bakery franchise
The quartile charts made our franchise advisory council meeting shorter, which I did not expect. One caveat: the first draft arrived a week later than quoted because two peer operators submitted P&L data late. Poplar Way flagged the delay upfront rather than padding numbers.Park Seung-hoFranchise Development, quick-service poultry brand
